Journalist confirms first major deal of Sir Jim Ratcliffe era is imminent

Dan Ashworth of Newcastle United will soon take over as Manchester United’s new sporting director, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The appointment of Southampton’s Jason Wilcox could soon follow, confirms the journalist.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the chairman of INEOS, has recently taken a minority stake in the Red Devils. He will replace the Glazers in all football-related operations.

Ratcliffe is expected to make changes at the club, on and off the pitch, in order to take Man United back to the top of English football.

Omar Berrada, a choice selected by the Glazers and authorised by INEOS in January, has already been appointed as United’s next CEO.

According to Jacobs, INEOS has a “dream structure” in mind for Man United, after which they will choose a manager they believe has the ability to lead them to success.

Ten Hag might be chosen as the ideal head coach to lead the club forward, the journalist has mentioned.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT:

“I don’t think INEOS have a dream manager. I think there’s a dream structure, and until that is built, those deciding on the so-called dream manager are not even in place. This is why INEOS have gone for Omar Berrada. Then we expect Ashworth because that’s close, and possibly Jason Wilcox. These people, along with Jean-Claude Blanc and Ratcliffe, will determine the dream manager.

“They won’t know who the dream manager is, as boring as it sounds, until they’ve been in the club and assessed the football department. We must emphasize that ten Hag might stay and be the dream manager. He’s not been pre-sacked. Nothing has been determined at this point.”

United are heading in the right direction in appointing the dream team that Ratcliffe wants. Whether ten Hag is part of that team remains to be seen.

One thing is for certain, United are set to have a big summer transfer window in terms of incomings and outgoings. A number of players are expected to leave as the new hierarchy wants to cut down the wage bill and make room for new and better players to join the club.

The summer promises to be an exciting one if you’re a Man United fan!
