Football commentator claims Harry Maguire was ‘lucky’ to avoid red card against Fulham

A foul committed by Harry Maguire against Fulham is set to dominate the headlines. You can already hearing the midweek segments on talkSPORT, with the likes of Gabby Agbonlahor ready to lay into the Manchester United centre-back for his foul on Fulham’s Sasa Lukic.

The England international made a clear attempt to win the ball, but unfortunately clambered into Lukic’s ankle.

Michael Oliver, an experience Premier League referee, correctly deemed it a yellow card offence.

We knew that wouldn’t be enough to silence the ABU (anyone but United) press from spreading hoax outrage at the decision.

Sports commentator Richard Keys was the first to speak out, posting on X: “Harry Maguire is a very lucky boy. As clear a red as you’ll see all weekend and he was only booked by Michael Oliver.

“VAR is a waste of time when Oliver refs. No-one will contradict him,” he continued.

Maguire scored an equaliser for United, though sadly we conceded again during stoppage time as Fulham won 2-1.

The goal sparked more fury for Keys. He took to X again, posting:
