Manchester United assistant Eric Ramsay has agreed to become the new head coach of MLS outfit Minnesota United.
Sources have told The Athletic that Ramsay is expected to depart his role at Old Trafford for Minnesota after the Manchester derby on March 3.
Ramsay won’t be in charge when Minnesota kick off their 2024 MLS season on Saturday against Austin FC.
At 32 years old, Ramsay will be the youngest head coach in the MLS and he will go there having built a strong reputation in the English game.
The Welshman has gained a lot of experience from his time at United. He previously worked under several managers such as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick and now Erik ten Hag. That should stand to him when he becomes a first team manager across the pond.
We would like to wish Ramsay the best of luck in the MLS when he completes his move. Hopefully United give a fitting send off by beating Pep Guardiola’s title chasing Man City.
