Polly Bancroft to step down from role at Manchester United

Manchester United have announced that Polly Bancroft will step down as the club’s head of women’s football at the end of the season.

The decision has been made as she will become the new chief executive of League Two side Grimsby Town. She joined United in October 2022 and has overseen an impressive shift in the development of the club’s women’s team.

Now Bancroft will take her career to Grimsby Town and we would like to wish her the best of luck.

Speaking to club media, Grimsby Town chairman Jason Shockwood said: “We are absolutely thrilled for Polly to be joining us. There was a tremendous amount of interest in the role and to have someone of Polly’s calibre and background join us is a real testament to how the club is regarded. We look forward to welcoming Polly and her family to the area and for her starting once the WSL season has concluded. We’d also like to thank Dave Slemen and the team at EPP who helped us conduct the search.”
