Serie A club ready to test United’s resolve with £34m summer bid for £73m flop

Juventus are reportedly preparing to ignite their pursuit of Jadon Sancho when he returns to Manchester United in the summer.

After being exiled from all first-team facilities and action last September, the 23-year-old returned to his former club Borussia Dortmund on loan in the January transfer window.

Given that there was no buy clause included in the terms set by United, it left his future wide open as to where he’ll be playing his football in the 2024/2024 campaign and, presuming Erik ten Hag remains in the dugout long-term, it’s unlikely to be at Old Trafford.

The player and manager were never able to bury the hatchet on their longstanding feud and so the most likely outcome – as it stands – is that when his loan spell comes to an end, talks will begin over Sancho making his permanent exit – just three years on from his £73 million, highly-anticipated United move.

Sancho to ply his trade in Italy?

As such, Juventus had been monitoring the winger’s availability prior to his Dortmund reunion and now plan to reignite their interest at the end of the campaign. Fichajes claims the Serie A outfit are willing to pay €40 million (£34.2m) to acquire his services.
