Rasmus Hojlund laughs while revealing what Alejandro Garnacho said to him immediately after his second goal

Rasmus Hojlund made Premier League history on Sunday when he became the youngest-ever player to score in six consecutive matches.

To make it even more impressive, it took him just 37 seconds to do so. He was able to latch on to a gift of a loose ball and slot it calmly past Luton Town’s Thomas Kaminski.

He then added to his tally just six minutes later and it was certainly one that caught viewers’ eyes; Hojlund cleverly adjusted his body to send Alejandro Garnacho’s wayward shot on target and into the back of the net.

Hojlund confirmed post-match that he had every intention of scoring from what looked like such a half-chance to everyone else, making it even more remarkable that he was able to adapt so quickly and use his chest to somehow turn it into a goal.

On the other hand, Garnacho was just pleased to have played a significant part in creating it, as he immediately told the Dane during their celebrations (relayed on Premier League Productions): “Assist, assist, assist!”

It did indeed count as an assist for the teenager and took his tally up to three for the season in all competitions, along with seven goals.
