Hannibal Mejbri joined Sevilla on loan for the second half of the season in January, with the Spanish giants holding the option to make that deal permanent after six months.

The Tunisia international has endured a troublesome start to life in Spain, with the struggling La Liga outfit battling for their survival in Spain’s top tier for the second season running.

Mejbri, brought in with high expectations, has struggled for minutes on the pitch and earlier this year, the club made a statement announcing that the midfielder was not going to be considered for selection for the foreseeable future.

Life in Spain has been far from glamorous for Mejbri thus far and now, it looks like Sevilla have decided on the player’s future going into this summer transfer window.

According to Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo, via the Daily Mail, Sevilla has decided not to make Mejbri’s loan permanent at the end of the season.

As per the report, there have been worries about Mejbri’s attitude and demeanor since he joined the club and ultimately, that could be the deciding factor when Sevilla seal his fate in the next couple of months.

Since joining United from Monaco in 2019, Mejbri has made 13 first-team appearances for the Reds and it feels like this summer is make-or-break for him at Old Trafford.

With the new ownership coming in and making changes and Erik ten Hag continuing to shape the squad to his liking, there is very little margin for error for Mejbri.
