The Premier League have confirmed the match officials who will be taking charge of Manchester United’s away trip to Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

It has been a challenging season for Erik ten Hag’s season but the Reds are unbeaten in the last five matches, after winning four of those and drawing one.

This weekend we all know that Unai Emery’s side will pose a different threat as top four competitors. They are currently fourth in the table and we can’t afford to let three point slip if the objective for this season is to qualify for the Champions League.

It has been confirmed by the Premier League that Robert Jones will be the referee at Villa Park. The 36-year-old referee has taken charge of just two games involving United this season, both resulting in defeats against Newcastle in the League Cup and Premier League.

Jones has thrown out 64 yellow cards this season and four red cards. His assistants will be Ian Hussin and Richard West, who have assisted over 500 Premier League games between them.

VAR will be operated by David Coote and Tim Wood will be his assistant on the screens.

The fourth official between Ten Hag and Emery will be Tony Harrington.
