‘I like celebrating with them’ – Amad Diallo has Old Trafford desire

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has spoken about his desire to score at Old Trafford in front of the fans.

When the Ivory Coast international scored his first United goal against AC Milan, there were no fans in the stadium because it was during the COVID pandemic.

That appears to be where Amad’s desire stems from and as fans we can’t help but admire that.

Amad is the latest first-team player to be tasked with doing the TeamViewer Diaries series, which features exclusively on the official Manchester United app.

Speaking to club media, Amad said: “When I scored against AC Milan, there was no fans [at Old Trafford], as it was during COVID. The fans are back now, so I hope to score and I hope it’s a winner that I can celebrate with the supporters, because I like celebrating with them.”

In the interview, Amad also speaks about trying to regain full match fitness, which explains why he has yet to return to the team.

Amad spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Championship side Sunderland and got the experiencing 14 goals in the Championship as the Black Cats reached the play-offs. Time will tell if he will get more opportunities to prove himself at United under Erik ten Hag.
