Man Utd are reportedly interested in signing Juventus’ standout defender Gleison Bremer but the defender has a high asking price.
The Bianconeri paid €41 million euros in the summer of 2022 to win the Brazilian’s services.
This turned out to be a great move in retrospect, as the 26-year-old is currently undoubtedly the best defender in Serie A at the moment.
Bremer was one of the very few Juventus players to make an impression along with Wojciech Szczesny, during Sunday’s loss in the Derby d’Italia.
The Brazilian international’s contract was recently renewed by the Turin-based giants, who also increased his salary to approximately €6 million euros in addition to bonuses.
However, it is never an easy feat for financially suffering Italian clubs to resist the riches of the Premier League.
Calciomercato claims that Juventus would entertain bids higher than €70 million euros.
It is unclear if Man United will be willing to offer that money to the Italian club. The Red Devils are looking to sign a new centre-back and they have shortlisted Bremer, Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Lille’s Leny Yoro.
As per the report, the Red Devils will sign a world-class defender as part of a significant summer shake up.
Bremer has been a mainstay in Max Allegri’s starting lineup this season. He has started all 23 Serie A games for the former Italian champions.
United need a centre-back because of the uncertain futures of Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof, the aging Jonny Evans and the unpredictable Harry Maguire.
Whoever United sign would partner Lisandro Martinez in the starting line-up.
