Diogo Dalot has shared his thoughts on the disappointing first half of the season as well as Manchester United’s recent impressive form.

The season has been frustrating and inconsistent thus far for Erik ten Hag and Manchester United.

But more lately, the Red Devils have been brilliant, having won back to back Premier League matches as well as qualification to FA Cup’s fifth round, where they will play either Nottingham Forest or Bristol City.

Diogo Dalot is one player who has excelled recently; the right-back has reclaimed his spot in the starting lineup after losing it at the end of last season.

The Portuguese defender has been talking to DAZN about the team’s successful January and their early season performance, via the Portuguese publication Noticias Ao Minuto.

“The month of January could’ve been better, and the first half of the season was a little below our expectations,” Dalot admitted.

“Individually, it’s been good, but the team is the most important thing, so when you don’t win, it doesn’t matter if you play well or not.

“Fortunately, the results are starting to come in and let’s hope it continues until the end of the season.

“In our case, we’re used to being at a club where the pressure and demands are very high, every time we play there are millions of people watching and so there are going to be a lot of opinions about us. Our job is to try and keep that out of it.”

Man United face Aston Villa in their next Premier League match as the Red Devils aim to get closer to the top four of the Premier League.
