Manchester City ready to go head-to-head with United in summer pursuit of Premier League ace

Manchester City are reportedly ready to go head-to-head with Manchester United in their pursuit of Crystal Palace ace Michael Olise, as per the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old looks set to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season after an unspecified release clause was included in the fresh contract terms he signed in August 2023.

Last summer, Chelsea triggered Olise’s previous £35 million clause and saw him closing in on a move to the Blues before he performed a sensational U-turn and decided to pen a new four-year deal with Palace.

United have since been heavily linked with the young talent as they plan for their first transfer window operating under INEOS’ part-ownership. Sir Jim Ratcliffe will want to start on the right foot with the Old Trafford faithful, so will likely be lining up a few statement signings to make the right impression and bolster Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Olise has registered six goals and three assists in 11 Premier League appearances this campaign.

  1. My only concern about today is the officiating and VAR. The conspiracy theorist in me is saying that the Premier League will give favourable decisions to Liverpool to try ensure that there is a Jurgen Klopp story at the end of the season . We saw how they can manipulate results in through their decision making in the Chelsea game.
