Bruno Fernandes was approached to make a mid-season switch to Saudi Arabia.
The Portugal international does not strike me as the type of football that will leave European football at the age of 29.
Furthermore, Fernandes is believed to have a desire to achieve more at Manchester United, after being given the captain’s armband in the summer.
According to Record, Fernandes received a huge offer to join Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal in January.
It is understood that Fernandes responded negatively to the proposal.
Every player has a price, but some footballers have no interest in taking their careers to Saudi Arabia. It’s easier for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is coming to the end of his career, but Fernandes could still have his best years ahead of him.
We certainly hope to see him back at his best between now and the end of the season. It would be a big boost if Fernandes could finish his first campaign as club captain on a strong note.
Would I be asking for two much if I said top four and the FA Cup?
