Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly reignite their pursuit of Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford after failing to acquire his signature in their past attempts, as per i News.
The 26-year-old has endured a lacklustre campaign this term, which came off the back of the most prolific season of his career when he netted 30 goals across 2022/2023.
Now, Rashford has just four goals to his name after 26 appearances in all competitions and has frequently found himself in the firing line of supporters over his body language or shoddy performances.
He garnered widespread media attention this week after he was spotted clubbing over two nights in Belfast before subsequently reporting ill for United’s training session on Friday morning. The England international was then omitted from the matchday squad that knocked Newport County out of the FA Cup on Sunday, as he stayed at Carrington to train alone.
The club confirmed yesterday through sources that the internal disciplinary matter had been resolved, with Rashford taking full accountability for the incident. The Sun claims that he was fined two weeks worth of his £325,000-a-week wages.
It remains to be seen if the homegrown talent would still choose to stay loyal to his roots if PSG come knocking again this summer. He could well fall out of favour unless his form picks up at Old Trafford, and there is little to no hope of the side securing Champions League football next term.
From United’s point of view, Rashford turns 27 this year and will then be classed as one of the more senior players in the dressing room. He’s never been able to produce his desired form or goal contributions over multiple seasons and the latest behavioural mishap will have undoubtedly been logged as a red flag.
