Man United are looking to close the signing of £100million Premier League star this month

According to sources, Manchester United are getting ready to finalise the acquisition of Jarrad Branthwaite before the transfer deadline expires on Thursday in an effort to bolster their defense this month.

The Everton player is reportedly a wanted man on the market and the Toffees are trying to work out a new deal with him, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Reputable Italian publication reports that Real Madrid and Chelsea are interested in signing the 21-year-old Everton defender.

However, Man Utd are “trying to close” the signing before the winter transfer window closes.

According to the Rome-based news outlet, the total deal value, including cash and add-ons, is 40 million euros.

The above mentioned amount is far too low for Branthwaite, who has established himself as a reliable defender in the Premier League for Everton and the Merseyside club hold him in the highest regard.

In order to deter potential bidders like Manchester United and Tottenham, the Merseysiders have placed an enormous £100 million price tag on their prized asset, according to an exclusive report that iNews published last month.

The former PSV Eindhoven centre half has played in 18 Premier League games so far this season, contributing to the team’s six clean sheets.

Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof are among the players at Old Trafford who are far beyond their prime, thus Ten Hag needs a top-notch central defender who can help the team challenge for trophies in the future.

This signing could be the perfect start of the INEOS era at Old Trafford.

  1. Total madness to pay £100.million for an Everton player that’s worth only.£40.million, but with TenHag anything is possible, if that was a united player, Everton would have started with a bid of inly£20.million, how clubs manage to overpower united so easily to part with huge amounts is shockingly comical, the whole soccer world know united will buy a turd wrapped in gold-plated material anytime for billions in a 💓

    1. Your talking out your posterior, Everton are fighting relegation Branthwaite going utd could possibly send them down why on earth would they sell him knowing that .
If utd want him they will have to break the bank for him, and utd aren’t the only club interested in him either ,so he’s never going anywhere cheap.

    2. Agreed, but the report actually says our offer is worth 40 million Euros; the £100 million is Everton’s price-tag.
Hopefully there’s common ground to be found between those two extremes, and also hopefully our days of wild overspending are over with INEOS overseeing that side of things.

  2. Move on to another target that doesn’t cost the earth find someone outside the premier League that’s cheaper and we can strengthen more areas instead of one area a season no wonder the club is in such a mess if you are throwing money away like this

  3. Utd cant afford to sign anyone in January because of FFP. I’m sick to death of seeing all these so called elite players they are going to sign, and then dont, just to keep the fans happy.
We need a another forward to see us through to the end of this awful season, and if we cant afford to buy one we should be using the youngsters coming through. I’ve watched a few young players scoring for fun, sometimes for fun.
I know they are in lower standard of football, but even I can recognise a true goalscorer when he can hold off three players who are closely marking him and score easily.
I seem to remember another Utd manager who brought in 5 youngsters who had won the Youth Cup the previous season in 1992.
Now I wonder who that was
