£50m Man United transfer target is coming to the Premier League according to journalist

Manchester United are interested in signing a striker in the January transfer window.

With Rasmus Hojlund the club’s only good option upfront, the Red Devils need players who can lead the attack and score goals.

Hojlund is still not yet a finished article and he needs someone who can help him develop into a better and more accomplished player.

Hojlund would much rather have an experienced striker to work with, but Anthony Martial isn’t fulfilling that need. The Frenchman is looking likely to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.

Karim Benzema and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting have been linked with moves to Old Trafford in recent weeks. However, it’s Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee who is going to excite the fans more.

It would appear to be a wise move for Man United to add the £50 million striker to ten Hag’s squad in the summer.

Journalist Luke Edwards has claimed that the Serie A striker could be soon on his way to England.

Speaking on the BBC’s ‘Transfer Gossip Daily’, Edwards insisted that a deal could happen for the Dutch striker.

Edwards said: “He fits that profile that 95% of clubs are looking for, of young, what is he 22, young striker, really high pedigree as a teenager.

“He was at Feyenoord’s academy, he was at Bayern Munich’s academy, went on loan to Parma, went on loan to Anderlecht.

“He’s done well at Bologna and obviously I think a lot of scouts are looking at him.

“Thursday night he was linked with Arsenal, a player that if I’m honest I knew a little bit about but he wasn’t really on my radar.

“And then suddenly within three or four days he’s gone from linked to Arsenal, linked to Manchester United, somebody is getting busy, somebody wants to get paid, somebody’s looking for that deal to happen.

“So, I’m going to say that I think Zirkzee is going to be in the Premier League next season.”

He added: “I think Manchester United could do worse than sign a player like that.”
