Sir Jim Ratcliffe has dropped a hint about Mason Greenwood’s future at the club

New Manchester United part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe will have a major say in the club’s transfer business in the summer, with Mason Greenwood’s future also on the agenda.

The INEOS founder is rumored to be planning the club’s summer transfer business and it seems he is unlikely to deviate from the club’s position on Greenwood following his loan exit back in September.

Greenwood left Old Trafford on deadline day to join La Liga club Getafe.

The Crown Prosecution Service withdrew its allegations against Greenwood in February of last year, which he had disputed. The charges included attempted rape, assault, and controlling and coercive behavior.

United showed him the exit door but also admitted that they would help him build his career elsewhere.

His position has once again come under scrutiny due to the upcoming shift in the hierarchy at the club after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s £1.3 billion investment for a 25% stake and overall authority over football operations.

According to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s reported transfer plans for the summer, Greenwood’s future lies away from the club. The British billionaire is looking to let Greenwood go so that he can generate funds to invest in new players.

In the summer transfer window, a right-back, center-back, central midfielder, and striker are expected to be signed, according to Standard Sport.

The players on United’s transfer wish list are Michael Olise from Cystal Palace, Barcelona star Ronald Araujo and a striker who is on par with the level of Harry Kane.

The Red Devils are looking to sign a striker who would give competition to Rasmus Hojlund, while also helping the Dane develop into a batter player, and Olise would join Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo as the club’s options on the right-wing.

It’s hard to see Greenwood making a place for himself at Old Trafford after these transfer plans.

  1. Bring Mason Greenwood back, and please sign Enzo Lee Fee.. he’s a French midfielder, he’s so good and nobody is talking about him

  2. The God forgives sinners. Who are we that will not forgive Greenwood after court has exonerated him. We want him back.

  3. These are the worst plans I have ever seen, Antony, Martial, casemiro, and mctominay can generate money for the club not Greenwood, if you can’t bring him back then go away.

  4. Greenwood needs to come back, Man United not consistent in their ruling wrt Antony and Greenwood, both accused of domestic crimes yet Antony who’s case is still pending still plays whereas Greenwood that was exonerated from any wrongdoing was made an outcast. If the club feels the need to get rid of Mason then they also need to rid themselves of Antony.

  5. Bring him back, Antony, Martial, casemiro, and mctominay can generate money for the club not Greenwood, he is better footballer than all the players you wish to buy

  6. Please it’s unfair to condemn Greenwood for a crime that is today unproven. A kangaroo court has been applied to find him guilty.

There are many with worst crimes than him and yet are supporters of ManU. Woodward is to blame in handling this issue.
Sancho with worst behaviour than Mason is still on the payroll the club!

  7. Big mistake to let Greenwood out of the club. Stop this joke. Greenwood better than Antony, Amad, and smarter than Garnacho. His long range striker, better than all of that winger

  8. Good morning Mr Redcliffe hope you well,I understand what Mason Greenwood was accused of was not good for the image of the club, but I personally think he learnt his lesson, Mason Greenwood is a great player and can be an asset to the club, his a player that we know and he understands the system of the club,so my plea please bring him back, why spend money on players to fill positions when we have good players in that position, Greenwood is on our books just please think about it,thank you
