Manchester United and Chelsea to compete for 6ft 5in Swedish striker

Manchester United are reportedly keen on the signing of young Swedish striker Jonah Kusi-Asare.

According to an exclusive report from Graeme Bailey for HITC, as cited by CaughtOffside, the Reds face competition from Chelsea for the 16-year-old’s signature.

Despite being such a young age, Kusi-Asare stands at a whopping 6ft 5in and has attracted attention following his performances for AIK Solna.

It is has now been suggested that the Swedish club are prepared to sell their young striker for the right price.

Kusi-Asare could prove to be a solid, long-term acquisition for both clubs, who are currently short on options up front. It goes without saying that United will be in the market for new forwards in the summer when we’ll finally be able to get rid of Anthony Martial.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have shown a key willingness to sign young players since their charge of ownership, and it seems like Kusi-Asare is the latest target to hit their radar.

The youngster should be looking to join a club where there is a clear pathway into the first team. He must be looking at the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo flourishing at Old Trafford and thinking he wants a bit of that.
