Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to attend Man United vs Tottenham match at the weekend

According to the PA news agency, Sir Jim Ratcliffe will watch his first Manchester United game this weekend as the Red Devils take on Tottenham at Old Trafford.

After agreeing to purchase 25% shares of the Premier League club, this is the first time Ratcliffe will be attending a Manchester United game.

Since the announcement of the deal, Sir David Brailsford, Director of Sports at INEOS, has attended every Manchester United game. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is also expected to attend matches regularly.

Ratcliffe and Brailsford have made an effort to get to know the players, the manager and the staff by visiting the Carrington training facility last week.

Along with members of other teams and backstage personnel, the two met with the managers of the men’s and women’s teams, Erik ten Hag and Marc Skinner, respectively.

Erik Ten Hag now has the perfect opportunity to show the new people in charge of the club that he is the right man to take the club forward. Against Spurs at the weekend, United have the perfect opportunity to regain form and start salvaging their season.

With eight points more than the Red Devils, who are presently ranked eighth with 31 points, Tottenham are presently sitting in fifth place in the Premier League standings.

A win against Spurs will give United the opportunity to close the gap against a direct rival who are also fighting for a top four place this season.

After win against Wigan in the FA Cup on Monday, ten Hag will be hoping his team take that momentum and show it against Spurs in the league.
