Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is optimistic that his team can fill in for Andre Onana.
In addition to facing Wigan today in the FA Cup, Onana may play against Tottenham in the Premier League before being called up to the Cameroon national team for the AFCON.
After his departure for international duty, Altay Bayindir is expected to step in for his fellow goalkeeper.
On his first choice goalkeeper going away, ten Hag said:
“At some point Andre will go.
“We are totally happy and we constructed this group of keepers because we are comfortable with this.
“We have confidence in them and both are very good keepers, experienced at the highest levels.
“We can have a lot of belief that we have coverage but not only coverage but competition between those two or three.
“We are sure that if Andre has to go we are in a good place and have a good replacement to fill that gap.”
ten Hag is confident that the second choice Man United goalkeeper can replace Onana and cover for him in his absence.

The Dutch manager has previously worked with Onana at Ajax and he knows how good the African goalkeeper can be. Even though Onana’s form has dipped this season and he should have done a lo better but only last season, he was one of Inter Milan’s best players and helped them reach the Champions League final.
ten Hag and United fans are hoping they get to see the Onana of last season when he returns from international duty.
Tenhag need to play altay in goal and give ahmad a proper run of 5 games instead Anthony. We are man.utd we can’t afford defeat over defeat . Recall greenwood and alvaro Fernández . Amad is the key for rasmus and garnacho are the best player so far .
