‘Let’s do this’: United fans will love long-term absentee’s rallying message after returning to training

Lisandro Martinez being pictured in Manchester United training this week was certainly a sight for sore eyes for supporters.

The Argentine’s last outing of the season came on September 20 during the Reds’ 4-3 Champions League loss to Bayern Munich. Shortly after the game, it was confirmed that Martinez had suffered a re-aggravation of the metatarsal injury that ended his maiden United campaign prematurely.

Forced to undergo a second operation, Martinez was dealt a lengthy layoff in hopes of the problem being corrected once and for all. He has been sorely missed throughout his absence and fans are adamant that the team’s form wouldn’t have been so poor had the defender been available.

Now, Martinez is closing in on his long-awaited return to action, having resumed full training with his teammates at Carrington this week.

He took to Instagram to share some snaps of himself being put through his paces, captioned: “Really happy to be back with the team. Let’s do this together!”
