Jadon Sancho’s return to Borussia Dortmund on loan hit by delay

Jadon Sancho’s loan move from Manchester United to Borussia Dortmund has been ‘delayed’ as the clubs have yet to reach an agreement.

Sancho has not been part of the first team for the past three months after a public falling out with manager Erik ten Hag. Now, he is on the verge of leaving Old Trafford on a temporary basis, although we can’t see a way back for him into the manager’s plans.

Previous reports have suggested that Dortmund is Sancho’s most likely destination in January – on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Sky Germany now claim that Sancho’s return to Dortmund is delayed due to negotiations dragging on, which seems like a stretch because the transfer window only opened five days ago.

They add there is ‘still no complete agreement’ between Dortmund and United.

The final details still need to be clarified but I think we can expect this to be sewen up next week at the latest.

With there being no way back for Sancho at United, all we can hope for is a positive loan spell so that he can reclaim some of the value he had in the transfer market.

The Reds know they’ll be making a loss on Sancho’s signature either way.
