Minority Manchester United owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is happy to keep Erik ten Hag as the manager of the club until at least the end of the season.
Ratcliffe acquired a 25% stake in United at the end of last month and he will takeover all the sporting operations of the club under his command.
He will have the authority over any football related business associated with the club moving forward.
The current focus is on signing players in the transfer window, freeing up the wage bill and looking after the outgoings at the club.
Jadon Sancho could most likely be the first one to leave Old Trafford with the club reaching agreement with Borussia Dortmund over a loan move for the exiled English star.
ESPN have reported that Ratcliffe wants to keep ten Hag at the club for the rest of the season.
The Dutchman’s job has come under severe scrutiny this season after United failing to perform well throughout the season.
The Red Devils have already been knocked out of the Champions League this season and currently sit in eighth place in the Premier League.
Graham Potter is still being evaluated as a potential replacement of ten Hag at the club and Ratcliffe may move for him in the summer to start over his project.
Ratcliffe is reportedly a fan of the English manager and has previously tried to sign him for Nice, the French club he owns. Potter rejected the offer to work for him.
ten Hag has only two matches in January to turnaround his team’s fortunes; an FA Cup clash against Wigan and a home league fixture against Tottenham.
