Premier League club emerges as unlikely candidate in pursuit of United outcast Jadon Sancho

Supporters are expecting clarification on Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United future in the coming days now that the player is free to depart on either loan or a permanent deal.

As per the Daily Mail’s ‘United Confidential’ column, West Ham United have emerged as unlikely candidates in pursuit of the exiled forward.

Sancho, 23, is believed to be on the shortlists of his former club Borussia Dortmund and Serie A outfit Juventus, with the former offering the prospect of Champions League football in the second half of the campaign.

Moyes’ wariness a stumbling block in Sancho pursuit

A loan to West Ham would see Sancho remain in England but forced to move down South. The Irons defeated United 2-0 at home prior to Christmas and followed it up with the same scoreline away to Arsenal, bumping them to sixth in the table and one spot above Erik ten Hag’s men.

David Moyes, however, is said to be ‘reluctant’ to take the winger on loan until the summer, and Sancho’s £250,000-a-week wages certainly don’t help matters at a club like West Ham, where their highest-paid player, Lucas Paqueta, is on £150,000 per week.
