Dimitar Berbatov not confident for Manchester United at Nottingham Forest

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov is not confident the Reds will follow up their Boxing Day win at the City Ground this evening.

The Bulgarian is wary of the threat Forest pose up front, with Chris Wood recently scoring a hat-trick against Newcastle United in the Premier League. They’ve also got former United winger Anthony Elanga, who has been in good form for his new club this season.

Sharing his prediction with Betfair – a 1-1 draw – Berbatov said, as per the Manchester Evening News: “Chris Wood’s hat-trick was so good to watch, particularly against Newcastle, his old team. It is hard for Newcastle, and playing in so many competitions is taking its toll on them. However if you want to be a big club, as Newcastle are, then you must get used to difficult games.

“Credit to Nottingham Forest for beating them, and it will be a tough game for Man United. I want United to win, but I think it will be a draw.”

If United are to drop points at Forest, it would be another example of one step forwards leading to three steps backwards. We need to kick on and get a run of wins together. Otherwise the season will just pass us by and we won’t be in the Champions League next season.

Forest away should be a guaranteed three points but United, with 11 players missing, know it will be a tough battle at the City Ground.
