First look at United’s injury returnee in training has fans eagerly awaiting his first outing of the season

Manchester United shared a short glimpse into Friday’s training session at Carrington as the squad undergo their final preparations for tomorrow’s Premier League clash.

The Red Devils take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in Saturday’s evening kick-off slot of 5.30pm, with both sides on the back of crucial wins heading into the contest.

Erik ten Hag is still navigating an injury-plagued squad but is slowly being granted more options as sidelined players gradually return to the fold; Mason Mount was spotted doing some individual training work this week as he stepped up his recovery from a five-week layoff with a calf problem.

Amad is yet to feature for United this term after he sustained a nasty knee injury in the pre-season tour. It seems as though the club are opting to be patient with his comeback as, despite training with his teammates for several weeks, he has not been named in a matchday squad.

His long-term absence also meant that he, and United fans, have been made to wait to see him build on his scintillating loan spell with Sunderland, in which he netted 14 goals and assisted another four throughout his time on Wearside.

With that in mind, supporters were left impressed with the brief footage they saw of the 21-year-old winger in today’s social media post from United; Amad displayed some clever footwork and shifted his body to beat his man effortlessly before firing a low strike into the net.
