Serhou Guirassy is reportedly preparing to depart Stuttgart in January – just eight months after making his move permanent – amid interest from top European clubs.

The striker’s remarkable start to the 2023/24 campaign has seen him quickly become one of the most sought-after talents this winter; in 16 appearances across the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal, Guirassy has notched an impressive 19 goals and two assists, with his league tally only bettered by the prolific Harry Kane (21).

Guirassy spent last season on loan with Stuttgart and, while his numbers didn’t reach the levels they’re at this term, he did enough for the German side to activate his buy clause and in May 2023, they announced that the move had been made permanent with a three-year deal.

Guirassy’s staggeringly low release clause

When the transfer was signed and sealed, it was confirmed that the forward’s contract included a release clause of just €17 million (£15m), making it fairly evident why the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan are all hot on his trail.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport (as cited by Football Italia), Guirassy is ‘ready to leave’ Stuttgart when the window opens next month and will prioritise the club that poses the most attractive project, as well as a high salary.
