Rasmus Hojlund has assured that he is comfortable playing with all of Manchester United’s attackers amid criticism of their lack of service.

The Manchester United ace finally opened his Premier League account with his maiden goal against Aston Villa last night, which claimed all three points for the Reds against one of the most in-form English sides this term.

Hojlund was deployed in his usual No.9 role, with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho on each flank. The latter netted a second-half brace to inspire United’s comeback, while the former assisted Garnacho’s opener.

United’s forwards have come under fire for their lack of goal contributions over the course of the campaign; Rashford has just two league goals, Garnacho has now etched three in his tally, Hojlund has one, Antony has zero and Facundo Pellistri has zero. It’s no secret that for a club looking to compete with Europe’s elite, this simply has to improve.

The young Dane’s tedious 14-game wait for a debut goal was also put down to his teammates not doing their bit to create chances for him. Following the loss to West Ham United, a statistic revealed that Antony and Garnacho played a combined one pass to Hojlund across his 89 minutes on the pitch.

Hojlund satisfied with teammates’ assistance

Still, he maintains faith in his fellow attackers and is confident they will provide for him as the season continues. Speaking post-match last night to SportingNews, Hojlund explained: “I want to say I don’t care who I am playing with. I think we all play for Manchester United, so we all have our own different qualities.

“Whether I am playing with Antony, Garnacho, Rashy [Rashford], whoever is playing on the wings or in the No. 10 position, we have to find each other and create. I love to play with all of them. I am just a lucky man.”
