Manchester United discuss potentially terminating star’s contract

Manchester United have a big problem on their hands with Jadon Sancho after the winger was banished from the first-team earlier this season.

Now, months on from his public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag, it doesn’t look like there is any way back for the England international, despite the fact he is under contract until 2026.

United are said to have discussed the possibility of terminating Sancho’s contract, as per Sky Sports reporter Melissa Reddy, with the club ready to toughen up their stance on offering huge contracts to new signings.

The club must also accept that it will be difficult to attract a top fee for a player they clearly want rid of. It goes without saying that his value in the market dropped since his transfer from Borussia Dortmund to United.

However, when asked specifically about United terminating Sancho’s contract, The Athletic’s David Ornstein claim United will do all they can to find a buyer first.

Ornstein explains that it would be costly and a last resort option for the club to terminate his deal, like they did with Cristiano Ronaldo last year.
