Tottenham Hotspur are looking to poke their noses in front of the race for Jean-Clair Todibo amid interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United and Newcastle United.

As per the Daily Mail, Spurs have held ‘further talks’ with the player’s representatives over the past week and Todibo is believed to be ‘keen to join’ Ange Postecoglou’s project in North London.

The news will come as a significant blow to United, who will be hoping the impending arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe – owner of Nice – could sway the 23-year-old’s preference in their favour.

All three clubs interested in Todibo have been plagued with injuries this term and it’s evident that the squad issues have impacted each side’s form. At Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag has been forced to navigate a particularly debilitating injury crisis across the team and is currently accommodating Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez’s absences in central defence.

Todibo price tag revealed

Todibo is rated at around £35 million as it stands, having played a pivotal role at the heart of Nice’s backline this term. Such a price could prove too expensive for the Reds in the January window, especially at a time when signings are heavily dependent on outgoings.
