Diogo Dalot was shown two yellow cards – both for dissent – in the closing stages of Manchester United’s clash at Anfield.
The Red Devils saw out a goalless stalemate against Liverpool on Merseyside and, prior to kick-off, fans would’ve likely taken your hand off for a draw and a clean sheet.
In injury time, with both sides still looking to clinch a winner, Dalot chased down a ball alongside Mohamed Salah before it drifted out of play after hitting the Egyptian winger.
The throw-in was then wrongly awarded to the home side, leading Dalot to try and correct the referee’s decision and ultimately being brandished a yellow card. Still animated after the initial booking and decision, the Portugal star was then shown a second yellow and sent down the tunnel.
Luckily for him and United, there was such little time left that the Reds being down to 10 men had no impact on the end result.
