In the lead up to Sunday’s trip to Liverpool, we are hearing ex-pros give their ten cents on the fixture and how it will go.

Manchester United lost 7-0 at Anfield in March and Erik ten Hag’s side will be aiming for a positive result this time around, although Liverpool will be looking to maintain their place on top of the Premier League.

Former Liverpool player John Barnes has offered a preview to the crew at bonuscodebets.co.uk during which he spoke about how United can be ‘fantastic’ on their day. The problem being we haven’t had many – if any – ‘days’ this season. Although it’s late, in mid-December, hopefully we can start with one on Sunday.

Barnes claims that Liverpool will be able to cope without Alexis Mac Allister because they’ve already got Szoboszlai, Endo, Elliott and Gravenberch in the squad.

Speaking about the threat United pose Liverpool, Barnes said: “The real issue is which Manchester United turns up because on their day they’re fantastic. They can play well, but as we’ve seen when they don’t play well, they can be disastrous. So we really don’t know which Manchester United will show up which is dangerous for Liverpool. But we know which Liverpool is going to turn up.

“So hopefully we’ll be able to start off well and make them play with no confidence because of what they’ve been going through.

“Man United are a good team and as I said, on their day, they can turn up and play really well. Hopefully not this Sunday.”

I don’t think there will be many Liverpool fans fearing us on Sunday, given our form this season, but hopefully they’re left stunned by a Scott McTominay brace in stoppage time.
