Borussia Dortmund director dismisses interest in Manchester United flop

Jadon Sancho still doesn’t know where he will be playing his football in the New Year.

After being banished in the first-team by Erik ten Hag, it makes sense for Sancho’s representatives to start touting him around Europe. There will be offers from the Saudi Pro League but it remains to be seen if the winger is willing to sacrifice his career for a bigger pay day.

Rumours had suggested Sancho’s former club Borussia Dortmund had proposed an offer to United involving their player Donyell Malen.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Borussia Dortmund director Sebastian Kehl ruled out a potential exchange for Sancho.

“At the moment, there is no exchange deal discussed (with Sancho and Malen). Or any interest in any player.”

It’s a terrible shame that Sancho’s time at United hasn’t gone to plan, but the England international struggled before Ten Hag became manager and the Dutchman did all he could to help him last season. He cost the club £73m, as per The Athletic, and we won’t be making back anywhere near that amount from his sale.

Dortmund were never likely to pay his wages, but it begs the question as to whether Sancho is willing to take a pay cut to leave United on a permanent basis? It’s not like he has a future in Ten Hag’s side and he must be looking to move on in January.
