Rumours are doing the rounds about Erik ten Hag’s future as the pressure mounts at Manchester United.

It has been a terrible season for Ten Hag and United as they currently sit sixth in the Premier League, out of the Europe and the Carabao Cup.

United’s European campaign came to a premature end on Tuesday night after losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich, and only managing just one win throughout the group phase. The players only have themselves to blame for throwing comfortable leads away in games against FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

The Bundesliga champions scored thanks to a goal by Kingsley Coman after 70 minutes of action.

Now, with the pressure mounting on Ten Hag, he has been linked with a surprise new job.

According to rumours in Germany, as per Sport BILD columnist Jan Aage Fjortoft, Ten Hag is being linked with the Borussia Dortmund job.

Fjortoft wrote: “Wild rumor in Germany. Ten Hag could be the new coach in Dortmund. Remember… Sammer (adviser Dortmund) has employed Ten Hag before (Bayern). Let us see what happens in the new year.”

Borussia Dortmund will be hoping to secure their place in the Champions League last-16 tonight, however, I don’t think we have anything to fear about other than it sounds like Ten Hag’s people are fishing in case he is sacked by United.

Ten Hag enjoyed a promising first campaign at United and it would be a shame to throw that away.
