Preview: Manchester United vs Bournemouth – Quest to climb the table continues

There’s no shortage of Premier League fixtures as we approach the festive period and today Manchester United will host Bournemouth at Old Trafford.

The Reds go into the game after beating Chelsea 2-1 three days ago and Erik ten Hag’s side will be looking to add another three points to their tally for the season.

United are trying to close the gap on the top four and we can’t afford to be slipping up against teams like Bournemouth, especially when those around us are dropping points.

Kick-off is at 3pm GMT.

Team News

Marcus Rashford is potentially set to miss the game after sitting out training on Friday due to illness, while Victor Lindelof won’t be available after coming off at half-time in the win over Chelsea on Wednesday night.

That could mean a return for the fit-again pair of Jonny Evans and Raphael Varane, but only one of them is expected to start alongside Harry Maguire.

Predicted XI vs Bournemouth

Mason Mount and Amad Diallo are back training after spells in the treatment room, though this game may have come too soon for both players.

Prediction

I fancy United to get a positive result against Andoni Iraola’s side, but there needs to be the same level of desire from our players that we witnessed on Wednesday night against Chelsea.

United 3-0 Bournemouth.
