Manchester United-linked starlet eyes Arsenal move; he’s expected to leave his club in 2024

Manchester United and Arsenal could vie for the signature of highly-rated full-back Jeremie Frimpong and according to Football Transfers, he’d opt for a switch to the Emirates.

Frimpong has been on the Red Devils’ radar in the past, namely in Erik ten Hag’s first transfer window, and reports suggest that he is expected to leave Bayer Leverkusen in 2024.

The 22-year-old’s contract contains a release clause of €40 million (£34m), which is considerably lower than fans might’ve expected given his remarkable output; this term, he’s already notched six goals and nine assists in 19 appearances across all competitions for the German outfit, who sit atop the Bundesliga and are unbeaten since the season began.

It seems as though Frimpong could take some convincing if United want to ignite their pursuit of him next year, as he is seemingly set on joining Mikel Arteta’s project in North London.

Ten Hag currently relies on Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back and while they are rated for their defensive abilities, especially the Englishman, their contribution in attack often leaves a lot to be desired.
