Marcus Rashford was absent from training today due to illness and is consequently a doubt for Manchester United’s clash with Bournemouth tomorrow.

The update was shared by Samuel Luckhurst this afternoon just hours after Erik ten Hag confirmed that Victor Lindelof was also ruled out of the match.

Rashford was dropped to the bench for the Reds’ 2-1 win over Chelsea on Wednesday night following a lacklustre showing at St. James’ Park last weekend, though he did enter the fold in the 84th minute to replace Rasmus Hojlund.

It remains to be seen if Ten Hag would’ve granted the Englishman a place in the starting 11 against the Cherries, especially after Alejandro Garnacho put in a spirited shift across the night and provided a crucial assist for Scott McTominay’s winning goal.

United get fitness boost

In a more positive fitness update, Raphael Varane will be available after missing the midweek outing with a sore back, and youngster Amad Diallo returned to training following a lengthy injury layoff that has kept him in the treatment room since the season began.
