Preview: Manchester United vs Chelsea – Two inconsistent teams reignite rivalry

Manchester United host Chelsea in a game which is difficult to predict due to the two teams being inconsistent this season.

The rivalry reignites as a mid-table clash, though due to results elsewhere this season, they remarkably still stand a chance of finishing in the Champions League spots.

While Mauricio Pochettino struggles to justify Chelsea’s heavy spending, Erik ten Hag has pundits calling for his head and completely overlooking the injury crisis United have suffered with this season.

Manchester United vs Chelsea details

The game kicks off at 8.15pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.

Amazon Prime Video will be showing game and it will be available via the Amazon Prime Video app and website.

Match prediction

This is a game between two teams reliant on individual brilliance, but given United’s lacklustre display against Newcastle United at the weekend it’s hard to see us getting a positive result.

We can expect goals due to the fact both defences are leaking at the back – and United concede far too many shots every week.

I’m going for a 2-1 defeat in this one. The mood around the place is dire and I fear too many of our players are feeling sorry for themselves.
