The Manchester Evening News is one of four news publications to have been banned by Manchester United from today’s press conference.
It is believed the publication – along with three others – has been banned for their coverage of United’s worst start to a season since the club was last relegated, as per the Manchester Evening News.
As a result, these publications have been blocked from attending Erik ten Hag’s pre-match press conference this afternoon ahead of our game against Chelsea on Wednesday night.
It is believed another newspaper was banned for suggesting Ten Hag was “on thin ice”.
Meanwhile, United are allowing first team players to give exclusive interviews to controversial YouTube channels – but they’re happy to ban reporters who do their job properly.
United must accept that negativity comes with poor results and, on another note, I highly doubt banning press will do us any favours.
All papers were notified of the ban by the communications director, Andrew Ward, who works closely with Ten Hag. Ward has been in the job since 2019, but he seems to be warming up to fan channels like The United Stand more than any of the respected outlets which paints a sorry picture for our football club.
Ward seems to think it’s North Korea.
