Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has detailed his predictions for the final Champions League group-stage matchweek.
His side still have hopes of progressing in the competition following their 3-3 draw with Manchester United last week and must overturn Copenhagen away from home next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the contest at Rams Park took the Red Devils’ fate out of their hands, as they must now beat Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who boast a 39-game unbeaten streak in the group stage, at Old Trafford while hoping the remaining Group A match ends in a draw.
Bayern dropped points to Copenhagen in their last outing in a somewhat lacklustre performance by their standards, with the clash ending a goalless stalemate. They’re already through to the last-16 so most likely had their priorities elsewhere, but unfortunately for United, Thomas Tuchel will surely be rallying his squad to bounce back convincingly.
Buruk slams Bayern for unambitious display
Buruk criticised the Germans for the lack of effort they portrayed, especially as the outcome had a direct impact on their position in the group.
“We were disappointed that they gave up points. They rotated for the first time and it didn’t look like they wanted to win,” the manager said, as cited by BILD.
“We want to win in Copenhagen and get our work done. I have high expectations of Bayern for the last game against Manchester [United].”
