‘Groundhog Day’: Manchester United legend gives five-word response to reports of dressing room revolt

Gary Neville took to X, formerly Twitter, to react to the latest reports of unrest in Manchester United’s dressing room.

The speculation will come as absolutely no surprise to supporters, as such a scenario has been in a cycle of rinse-and-repeat under every manager since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure.

Around half of the squad have reportedly lost faith in the Dutchman due to the playing style he’s implemented, a strict, excessive training regime, and concerns over where the club is heading.

It comes after a record-breakingly poor start to the term at Old Trafford, which has seen the team lose 10 of their first 21 games, conceding 34 goals in the process. They sit seventh-placed in the Premier League, are out of the Carabao Cup and their Champions League fate is now out of their hands after picking up just four points from five group-stage matches.

As such, it’s no surprise that pressure is mounting on the shoulders of Ten Hag and it comes amid a critical run of fixtures across the festive period; Chelsea (H), Bayern Munich (H) and Liverpool (A) are some of the ties they face prior to Christmas.

Neville reacts

Former club captain Neville reacted to the rumours, quoting Sky Sports’ video with the caption: “Here we go. Groundhog Day.”
