4-2-3-1: Predicted Manchester United line-up vs Newcastle – Marcus Rashford returns

Manchester United will be looking to continue winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to face Newcastle in the Premier League. The Reds will be looking for revenge for the 3-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of Newcastle in the Carabao Cup a month ago.

Erik ten Hag’s side have moved up to sixth in the Premier League after going on a run of winning five of their last six matches. While our form has improved, we still need to prove ourselves in a big game this season and this certainly counts as one.

United continue to battle with a lengthy injury list, although the hosts at St James’ Park also have an array of players out with injuries and knocks.

Hopefully we can take advantage of that on Saturday night.

It’s also a chance to put our Champions League disappointment behind us after a 3-3 draw away at Galatasaray on Wednesday night.

With a tough trip to Newcastle on the horizon, here’s the side Ten Hag could name after our latest struggle in Europe.

Manchester United predicted line-up vs Newcastle

Ten Hag will back Andre Onana after a midweek of madness. The Cameroonian is our first choice goalkeeper and his form in the league has improved.

There’s no disputing who will be deployed at full-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw fully fit. That means we won’t see any changes in defence as Harry Maguire and Victor Londelof start at centre-back.

In midfield, Kobbie Mainoo needs to come back into the team. He was superb against Everton and I think Sofyan Amrabat is too slow for the Premier League (happy to be proven wrong on that!). Scott McTominay scored his fourth goal of the season in Istanbul – his first ever Champions League goal – and should start with bigger names like Casemiro and Christian Eriksen out injured. Then there’s Bruno Fernandes trying to pull the strings in attack after his assist against Galatasaray.

Rasmus Hojlund will lead the line and he’ll have Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho attacking from either side.

Full predicted Manchester United XI: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw; Mainoo, McTominay, Fernandes; Rashford, Hojlund, Garnacho.
