Manchester United squandered a two-goal lead at Rams Park on Wednesday to eventually draw 3-3 in their penultimate Champions League group-stage match.
The opener of the fiery clash was netted by young Alejandro Garnacho, who was still reeling off the confidence of his overhead wonder goal against Everton just three days prior.
Garnacho has never shied away from his love and admiration for former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, and has frequently opted to celebrate in the style of his hero, whether it be the iconic ‘Siu or ‘Calma’. On Wednesday, he opted for the latter.
The 19-year-old then appeared to cup his ears while facing the hostile home supporters, as they had been giving United a torrid reception from the first blow of the whistle.
Club captain Bruno Fernandes intervened to try and stop Garnacho’s gesture, while new footage has now shown that Antony also turned to the stands and seemingly apologised for the youngster’s behaviour, with the Reds presumably reluctant to not try and rile up the fans any more than they were on the night.
