Harry Maguire has been rightfully recognised for his resurgent form with a nomination for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award.

The 30-year-old is among six nominees, those being Jeremy Doku, Anthony Gordon, Thomas Kaminski, Raheem Sterling and Marcus Tavernier.

After a season spent watching on from the substitutes’ bench, Maguire has cemented his place in Erik ten Hag’s starting 11 this term and has been an undeniable stalwart at the back for Manchester United. Given the stark criticism he’s received from all angles since arriving at Old Trafford, it’s refreshing to see him get the plaudits he deserves now.

How Maguire fared in November

In November, the Englishman started and played the full 90 minutes in all of the Red Devils’ three league games; Fulham (A), Luton Town (H) and Everton (A) – all of which were wins. He also played a pivotal role in the trio of games resulting in three consecutive clean sheets, giving the squad a much-needed boost of confidence heading into the season-defining festive run of fixtures.
