Interviewer bizarrely admits that media like to see United ‘in crisis’, Ten Hag gives savage response

An interviewer perhaps crossed a line of unbiased journalism when interviewing Erik ten Hag ahead of Manchester United’s penultimate Champions League clash on Wednesday evening.

The Red Devils have made the trip to Turkey and will be undergoing their final preparations before they see out a must-win European contest at Rams Park tomorrow.

Having sustained three defeats and one win thus far, United sit rock bottom of Group A  on three points, meaning their progression to the knockouts is largely riding on whatever points they can clinch in Istanbul.

Ten Hag was compelled to oversee his usual media duties leading up to the game, with club captain Bruno Fernandes also partaking in numerous press outings this week, however, one particular exchange from an interview with TNT Sports raised the eyebrows of the manager – and supporters.

United have been the talk of England this season following their lacklustre start to the term and given the successes of the club, you can always expect heavy criticism from the media.

An awkward watch!

One TNT Sports reporter may have taken it a little too far though, as he said to Ten Hag: “It feels an important week for you, a little bit of a point where the season can really improve or another crisis – as we like to see from the outside.”

The taken-aback Dutchman responded: “Oh, you like it? Okay, that’s quite honest. You want to see it, but we don’t care about that.”
