Marcus Rashford dedicates goal versus Everton to late cousin

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has dedicated his goal against Everton to his late cousin.

Rashford scored United’s second goal at Goodison Park on Sunday in a 3-0 win, with his spot kick sent into the top corner.

The England international has now shared a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, dedicating the strike to his late cousin.

Rashford posted an image of him looking up towards the sky as he celebrated the goal, writing: “I would like to dedicate the goal yesterday to my cousin who recently passed away. GBNF”.

It goes without saying that Rashford needed a goal as he’s been struggling with a goal drought lately, but it went a long way towards ensuring United came away with all three points as we moved up to sixth in the Premier League.

Rashford was let take the penalty after being ordered by captain Bruno Fernandes.

Fernandes and Erik ten Hag will hope the goal gives Rashford the confidence boost he needs. It certainly shows good leadership on the captain’s behalf, despite being questioned for not having the right leadership qualities since getting the armband.
