Alejandro Garnacho’s stunner for Manchester United against Everton on Sunday quickly drew comparisons to Wayne Rooney’s great goal against Man City in 2011.
Marcus Rashford passed to Diogo Dalot on the right flank, who made a deep cross into the penalty area, where Garnacho met it with an acrobatic strike into the top corner 15 yards from goal.
The away end erupted while the home fans were left stunned.
Garnacho’s wonder goal was reminiscent of Wayne Rooney’s against City – but Gary Neville suggested in the Sky Sports commentary box that it was even better than his former teammate’s spectacular effort, which has gone down in history.

It raises the question: which strike do you think was the better of the two?

As far as I’m concerned, Garnacho connects with the ball better (not off his shin), which is why he’ll be getting my vote on this one.
I’d go as far as to say it’s the best overhead kick I have ever seen and it just gives us a taste of what Garnacho has in his locker at such a young age.
A sensational goal and I’m confident he’ll score many more.
