Manchester United urged to match Everton anger at Goodison Park

Erik ten Hag is expecting a “mad” atmosphere inside Goodison Park on Sunday.

It is the first time Everton will take to the pitch since they were docked 10 points from the Premier League for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.

Everton were midtable but now find themselves in the relegation zone. Manager Sean Dyche will expect a response from his players knowing that Premier League survival has been made a lot harder for the Toffees.

While the game represents a big challenge for United, so does the occasion itself and this is the kind of game our players should be looking forward to.

“It’s always about us,” Ten Hag told reporters at his press conference, as quoted by The Standard. “I can see the opposition, I can see they are mad.

“Finally, it’s about us.

“If they are mad, that’s their fuel, we have to match those standards. If we match the standards we have a very good chance to win the game.

“I don’t know the details about [the points deduction], I don’t have an opinion. I can imagine Everton fans are very mad. We can do nothing about it. We have to match their standards.”

United go into the game as one of the Premier League’s most in-form teams and Ten Hag will want to come away from Goodison Park with maximum points. We have won four of our last six league games which bodes well ahead of the weekend.

Rasmus Hojlund will undergo a late fitness test on Saturday to check whether he can play or not.
