Highly rated youngster in advanced talks over first professional contract at Manchester United

Ethan Wheatley has attracted interest from other clubs, but the youngster is expected to remain at Manchester United.

According to Manchester World, the Red Devils are in advanced talks with youngster Ethan Wheatley about signing his first professional contract with the club.

The England U17 international has impressed enough at youth level to warrant a professional deal and it sounds like one is in the pipeline.

Wheatley played for the U18s last season, but has represented United at U21 level this term. He has also started all four of our UEFA Youth League matches, scoring in Copenhagen two weeks ago.

His current deal expires at the end of the season, so United are believed to be preparing a new proposal for his first professional contract.

Manchester World understands talks are at an advanced stage, although no announcement is expected to be confirmed at this side of Christmas.

The report adds that United are also planning to offer Omari Forson a long-term deal.
