Andre Onana is one of many Manchester United players to come under fire this season for his performances, but his statistics suggest that he’s adjusted well to Premier League life.

The Cameroonian was sought in the summer as David de Gea’s successor, moving on a £47.2 million move from Inter Milan to fill the void between the sticks at Old Trafford.

Since then, he has faced a tumultuous time as United’s No.1, with the side conceding 30 goals in all competitions across their opening 18 matches; their worst start to a season in 61 years.

It’s worth noting that Onana, 27, has never had a consistent backline deployed in front of him due to the Reds’ debilitating injury woes, which has seen every defender except Diogo Dalot miss a game due to illness or fitness concerns.

Onana’s impressive stats

However, despite the club’s troubled start, Onana has actually been ranking well in terms of the Premier League’s statistics. For example, he has the second-most amount of clean sheets thus far (four) and the third-best save percentage with 76.7 per cent, as per Statman Dave on X.

Hopefully, results look somewhat more stable as more sidelined players return and the goalkeeper’s confidence continues to grow with every quality showing.
